in Sāvatti, adinnapubbako- adinnapubbaka, nāma- name, brāhmaṇo-

gold, koṭetvā- having hammered, kuṇḍalāni- ear rings, katvā-
having made, adāsi- gave. Tena- because of that, assa putto-
his son, paññāyi- was known. soḷasavassakāle- at the age of

body, jhāpetvā- having cremated, devasikaṃ- daily, āḷāhanaṃ-
to the cremation ground, gantvā- having gone, kahaṃ- where is, ekaputtaka
ekaputtakā- one and only son, rodi- wept, cried.
